DCL has always been a free resource. Daily emails, News & Notes bulletins, and the new weekly recommendations post will remain free to all.
I did not solicit contributions for the first four years of the site. In that time, this project has grown from one person’s labor of love to a small team in constant communication. We’ve moved from a free platform at Substack to greater flexibility and ownership–but also greater costs–at WordPress, and the crossword community has grown, requiring more daily and weekly attention to stay current.
Contributions to DCL will offset operational costs and allow me to better honor the time, skill, and care of our volunteers. We gratefully welcome donations of any size.
